Giovanni Ciriello

Associate Professor, Scientific Advisory Board

Giovanni Ciriello obtained a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Padova in 2009. In 2010, he moved to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York for a postdoctoral fellowship focused on characterizing the complexity of cancer genomes. In 2015 he joined the University of Lausanne as a tenure-track assistant professor, where he was promoted in 2019 to associate professor with tenure. He has been a member of The Cancer Genome Atlas research network where he contributed to and led several studies and for which he was awarded a Team Science Award from the American Association for Cancer Research in 2020. Research in his lab integrates computational and molecular biology approaches to study the many faces of tumor evolution, including genetic alterations, cell plasticity, and alterations of the chromatin architecture.
