Trained as an engineer at the University of Liege, Belgium, and the University of Bristol. I then did a Phd in geophysics at the Australian National University and a postdoc at the California Institute of Technology. After 5 years as a Senior scientist at ETH Zürich, I cam to the University of Lausanne as a professor.
