Governance

After the first joint meeting of the Board of Directors and of the Scientific Advisory Board in Lausanne on  Nov. 14th, 2023, members of the Boards and of the Dalcolab joined for dinner.

On September 11th, 2023, Alma’s parents set up the Foundation and signed the Deed of Incorporation that also established the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) and the Board of Directors (BOD). The engine and mind of the Foundation rest in the SAB, an international group of eminent scientists. The Board manages to guarantee current and long-term realization of the Foundation’s goals with the help and control of the Auditor.
Alma’s research lies at the frontier of life sciences and the study of complex biological systems. This frontier will evolve and move in time and the Foundation will evolve accordingly to promote young talents, with the help of new skills and resources.
The Foundation is open to new participants: the New Founders, who represent both continuity and sustainability for the future. Founders and New Founders constitute the Council of Founders and will nominate the SAB and Board in the future. Individuals, as well as public or private institutions, have the opportunity to collaborate with the Foundation in order to contribute to and accomplish the implementation of specific programs.
The Supporters can contribute with human and material resources to sustain the achievements of the Foundation. The Supporters will constitute the Committee of Supporters, and the Committee may define specific activities and goals.
